Everything cream cheese stuffed chicken with spinach, scallions and everything bagel seasoning is a quick dinner the family will love. Bake them in the oven or in your air fryer!
Isn't it crazy how all these years we've only used that delicious "everything" seasoning on bagels?!
I'm glad someone had a light bulb go off when they decided to bottle it as seasoning so us foodies could use it on chicken, fish, veggies, even fries!
This simple cream cheese stuffed chicken uses chicken breasts that are coated in everything-seasoned panko and stuffed with a spinach, scallion and cream cheese filling.
Bake in the oven or in the air fryer until golden and crispy...Talk about a quick and simple dinner!
I know the everything seasoning has been around for a bit, and I'm not sure what took me so long to discover it, but man I'm glad I did.
I keep a jar with my other spices at all times. It's one of my pantry staples that I can use on anything if I'm in a pinch and need some good flavor :).
This everything cream cheese stuffed chicken is not only quick and easy to make but it's got a ton of flavor and the spinach adds a hidden vegetable for those picky eaters ;).
Baked Everything Bagel Chicken Ingredients:
- cream cheese
- scallions
- "everything bagel" seasoning
- spinach
- chicken breasts, thin sliced
- pepper
- panko bread crumbs
- egg
- olive oil
You can find the everything bagel seasoning at pretty much any market these days. I've found it at both Trader Joe's and Aldi.
You can also easily make your own everything but the bagel seasoning too! Try this easy homemade everything seasoning from Two Peas and Their Pod.
I find there to be a good amount of salt in the seasoning which is why I do not add any to the recipe. Seasoning brands may vary so if you feel salt needs to be added, by all means do so!
How to make everything cream cheese stuffed chicken:
- Cook spinach in sauté pan until wilted. Drain any excess water.
- In small bowl combine softened cream cheese, spinach, scallions and 2 teaspoons of the everything bagel seasoning. Set aside.
- In another small bowl combine panko, 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning and black pepper.
- In a third shallow dish beat the egg.
- Pound chicken until about ¼" thin. Evenly spread cream cheese mixture onto each piece of chicken. Roll the chicken up and secure with a toothpick.
- Dip each piece of chicken in the egg then in the panko mixture. Press down firmly to ensure it sticks.
- Place coated chicken on baking sheet. Drizzle tops with olive oil or spray with an olive oil cooking spray and bake until golden and chicken temperature reaches 165 F.
- Top with extra everything seasoning and scallions if desired.
(I like to use my broiler setting for the last minute or two until the outside of the chicken is golden brown and crispy!)
To make air fryer everything bagel chicken:
Follow recipe instructions and instead of baking in the oven, place the stuffed chicken in your air fryer at 385 F for 15-20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and outside is golden. (cooking times may vary based on your air fryer).
I like to use a spray oil to make sure the chicken is evenly coated for a more even golden outside. (Link in bottom of recipe post).

Everything Cream Cheese Stuffed Chicken
Everything cream cheese stuffed chicken with spinach, scallions and everything bagel seasoning is a quick dinner the family will love. Bake them in the oven or in your air fryer!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temp
- ¼ cup scallions, sliced
- 2 teaspoons + 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning, divided
- 4 chicken breasts
- ½ cup panko bread crumbs
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- olive oil, for drizzling or oil spray (see recipe notes)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Cook spinach in sauté pan until wilted. Drain any excess water.
- In small bowl combine cream cheese, cooked spinach, scallions and 2 teaspoons of everything bagel seasoning. Set aside.
- Place chicken on cutting board and pound until about ¼" thin. Evenly spread cream cheese mixture among the 4 chicken breasts. Roll the chicken up and secure with a toothpick.
- In a shallow bowl combine panko, remaining 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning and black pepper. In another shallow bowl add beaten egg.
- Dip rolled chicken first in the egg, letting the excess drip off, then in the panko mixture pressing firmly to ensure the coating sticks. Place coated chicken on baking sheet, toothpick side down. Repeat with remaining chicken.
- To Bake: Place in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until outside is lightly browned and chicken reads 165 F internally. (To ensure chicken is extra golden and crispy I like to place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes.)
- To Air Fry: spray bottom of air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray or line with air fryer liners. Place chicken breast, toothpick side down. Spray lightly with olive or avocado oil. Air fry at 385 F for 15-20 minutes or until outside is browned and internal temp reaches 165 F.
- Remove toothpicks and serve with an extra sprinkling of everything seasoning and scallions if desired.
Notes
*You can find everything bagel seasoning in the market or you can make your own with this easy recipe!
*Frozen spinach can be used in place of the fresh. Use about ½ cup frozen thawed spinach. Drain excess water before adding to cream cheese.
*Using an oil spray will evenly coat chicken for a more crispy coating. I recommend either olive oil or avocado oil spray.
