Hi there! I'm Alyssa...a Rhode Island native and proud born foodie. Thanks for visiting my food blog aka my sanity and safe haven :). I'm super excited to share my recipes with you and hope to keep you coming back for more!
I live with two of the most handsome boys: my fiancé John and our baby boy Dallas Clyde, the Wheaten Terrier (aka Denis the Menace).
I started this blog for two reasons: first, I want to give healthy eating a better reputation instead of being thought of as bland or too expensive. Second, I want to show that cooking doesn't have to be stressful or frustrating. I was very lucky to grow up with amazing cooks in my family; my mom always had a home cooked meal waiting on the table and my grandma spoiled us with delicious Italian food and homemade desserts.
I know there are a lot of people out there who loathe cooking and find it difficult so if I can change just one person’s perspective, then I know this blog was all worth it (except the dirty dishes cause I think we’re all on the same page there!).
I hope to help you in anyway I can, I'll be your go-to-girl, recipe-consultant...right-hand woman in the kitchen! I believe it's so important for us to have a love for cooking instead of feeling like it's another chore. Food is your body's fuel so why fill it with junk?
Don't worry though, we will be making plenty of guilty, "OMG I need to work out after this" recipes as well...'cause what fun would that be if we didn't? Oh, and I hope you love dogs because Dallas is my little sous chef in the kitchen (aka my own personal vacuum).
A little background story; I graduated in 2012 from Johnson & Wales University with my Bachelor's in Baking and Pastry Arts. Like most college students, I had no idea what I wanted to do or where I wanted to end up but I knew I had a serious passion for food and that I loved making people happy with it. Fast forward yearsss later (YIKES!) and I'm now working the corporate 9 to 5, not using my degree, and a slave to the clock (sigh).
I decided to start this blog because I needed something more than my robotic work, work, work, Monday to Friday schedule. I felt lost and I needed some spice back in my life (literally!). My goal is to inspire you in the Kitchen because what else brings people together more than food?
So grab a glass of wine, throw some music on and let's get messy 🙂
