You really can't go wrong with a charcuterie board.
Well, you certainly can go wrong by pronouncing the name: shaar·koo·tr·ee, (only took me 5 tries to get it right), but that's neither here nor there ;).
This Valentine's day charcuterie board is quick and easy to put together and makes a beautiful centerpiece for your stay at home Valentine's day dinner.
I like using a combination of sweet and salty, giving the best of both worlds with this epic cheese board.
Use my Valentine's day charcuterie board as is, or use it as a base line for your own ideas of what you may want to put on your display.
Pandemic or not, we probably would have stayed home for Valentine's day as we usually do every year.
Don't get me wrong, going out for dinner is great and I love an excuse to dress up, but sometimes being home in my sweats is just as nice.
Going out for dinner on Valentine's day is always a disappointment anyways.
It's usually so crowded you can't hear, or the food is just mediocre because the chef is so slammed.
John says we're spoiled because half the time we go out to eat we always end up saying I could've made it better (I mean, I won't argue with him on that!).
...it's a gift and a curse being a good cook ;).
I love the idea of a Valentine's day charcuterie board this year. John works late so I won't have to worry about it getting cold or not being hot out of the oven.
I'm such a snacker so this is right up my ally!
What does charcuterie mean?
The official Merriam Webster dictionary definition is:
a delicatessen specializing in dressed meats and meat dishes
Now a days, charcuterie boards have become so popular.
I've seen everything from regular cheese boards to movie night boards to hot chocolate boards.
