I’m writing this heartbroken as tears roll down

I’m writing this heartbroken as tears roll down my cheeks.⠀
⠀
I look down at my growing belly and even though we have 22 weeks to go, I can’t help and think of how scared I am when you won’t be safe and sound inside me anymore. ⠀
⠀
“What were we thinking bringing a child into this world” is a new song stuck on repeat in my head. ⠀
⠀
I can’t help but think, with all this hate, chaos and ugly in the world, am I being selfish for bringing you into it?⠀
⠀
Then I stop, take a couple deep breaths and calm my mind because I know we will raise you to become a strong, beautiful and kind soul. ⠀
⠀
I understand that I will never understand, but ⠀
we will still raise you to not judge ANY individual by the color of their skin, religion, or just because they’re “different”. 👋👋🏻👋🏽👋🏾👋🏿⠀
⠀
We will raise you to know love as love and it does not discriminate 💛💚💙🧡❤️💜⠀
⠀
Most importantly we will raise you to just LOVE. Not only love all types of people, but love the beauty in this world that does still exists 🌼.⠀
⠀
I think of that and imagine you all grown up, and I stop worrying, just for a second.⠀
⠀
Because we need more people like this in the world and I know my husband and I can do our part (even if it’s a small part) in creating and raising one.⠀
⠀
I’m not posting this to be “relevant”, or for attention. I don’t need you to tell me it’s going to be okay. I just want you to know my child will be raised to LOVE EVERYONE and I hope you will make an effort to do the same. ⠀

I know it’s scary mamas (and dadas) but we got this. Let’s do better and raise a generation that only knows love, respect and kindness, that’s non-judgmental, non-bullying, and self-respecting because enough is enough and we have to remember racism of ANY KIND is taught and learned 🙏🏼. #muted #blackouttuesday #enoughisenough #nohatejustlove #istandwithyou #amplifymelanatedvoices
