DIY Infused Whiskey Bourbon

Ingredients

Vanilla Bean Infused whiskey:

  • 1 whole Vanilla Bean
  • 15 oz about 2 cups Bourbon Whiskey

Spiked Vanilla Hot Chocolate

  • 1.5 oz Vanilla Infused Whiskey
  • 1 packet Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 4 oz. Milk
  • 2 oz. Irish Cream such as Bailey's
  • Mini Marshmallows for garnish

Lemon Ginger Infused Whiskey

  • 2 TBS lemon peel about ½ lemon
  • 1 TBS fresh ginger cut into chunks
  • 15 oz about 2 cups Bourbon Whiskey

Whiskey Lemonade

  • 1.5 oz Lemon-Ginger Infused Whiskey
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Blackberries
  • 2.5 oz Lemonade
  • 2 oz Gingerale
  • Lemon Wedge and Blackberries for garnish

Apple Cinnamon Infused Whiskey

  • 1 Apple cored and thinly sliced
  • 4 whole Cinnamon Sticks
  • 15 oz about 2 cups Bourbon Whiskey

Apple Pie Spritzer

  • 1.5 oz. Apple Cinnamon Infused Whiskey
  • 4 oz. Cream Soda
  • Cinnamon for garnish

Coffee Infused Whiskey

  • ¼ cup Whole Coffee Beans preferably light-medium roast
  • 15 oz about 2 cups Bourbon Whiskey

Bourbon Coffee Martini

  • 1.5 oz Coffee Bean Infused Whiskey
  • 2 oz. Coffee Liquor such as Tia Maria or Kahlua
  • 1 oz. Irish Cream Liquor such as Bailey's
  • Bourbon Soaked Coffee Beans for garnish

Instructions

For the Infused Whiskeys

  • Place ingredients in 4 large mason jars (vanilla bean in 1 jar, lemon-ginger in 2nd jar, apples and cinnamon in 3rd jar and coffee beans in 4th jar.  Cover and infuse for at least 2 days (see recipe notes)
  • Once whiskey has infused, strain out ingredients (save the coffee beans for recipe below!) and, if giving as gift sets, divide into smaller mason jars, filling each with 3.5 ounces of whiskey.  You should end up with about 16 mason jars total, with 4 of each whiskey flavor.

Spiked Vanilla Hot Chocolate

  • Heat milk until simmering (or in microwave for 1.5 minutes).  Add in whiskey, Irish cream and hot chocolate packet.  Mix until combined.  Serve hot with mini marshmallows.

Whiskey Lemonade

  • Muddle whiskey and blackberries until juices release. Add in lemonade and top with ginger ale.
  • Garnish with lemon peel and fresh blackberries if desired.

Apple Pie Spritzer

  • Place whiskey in glass over ice, top with cream soda.  Garnish with cinnamon if desired.

Bourbon Coffee Martini

  • Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice.  Pour into martini glass.  Garnish with bourbon soaked coffee beans if desired.

Notes

*The Coffee Bean Whiskey should only infuse for 1-2 days max.  Make sure to test after the first day so it doesn't become too strong or bitter!  The other flavors will take about 1 week, but make sure to taste test those as well!
*If you aren't making these for gifts, just keep them in the larger jars or other airtight container!
